More Info At TaborMinistries.org
We are in Florida preparing for 2 morning worship concerts this Sunday at Living Word Church in New Port Richey (Tampa area). It’s been a very cool journey to see this concert happen. Kim is telling this story through a series of videos on her blog. You can view part 1 of the video series here. There will be more to come this weekend. Needless to say we are amazed by how God is at work and we look forward to seeing what HE has in store this weekend! For more information on this or other concerts, visit the On Tour tab of our web site by clicking here.
We really don’t take these opportunities lightly. We believe that on this Sunday, June 28, we are supposed to be at this church because God has a specific plan for us and for this congregation. Many times we leave without knowing what that purpose was exactly but we trust that God’s ways are sometimes unknown to us. There have also been many times when His reason for sending us to a church is smack-us-in-the-face-obvious. Either way we are trusting that God will be at work in and through us this weekend.
Would you join us in prayer over these concerts? Here are some specific requests:
1. For open hearts & minds in the congregation
2. That God would be glorified by everything that takes place
3. That God would give us the strength and grace to boldly proclaim The Gospel of Jesus Christ
4. The physical ability to sing and play to the best of our abilities and bring glory to God by offering our gifts back to Him in worship
5. That every piece of technical equipment would work in perfect order
6. We ask that people who do not know the Lord would be in attendance and that they would respond to the Gospel and accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior
We are grateful for your prayers! Thank you for standing with us. We will keep you updated.

For the last several months Kim and I have been praying about our future. We have really been in one of those places where we weren’t “lobbying” the Lord for anything…we just wanted to sense His Heart for our ministry and ask Him to order our steps. Our prayers have not been frantic or overly emotional, we have just been asking Him, the Lover of our souls, to speak clearly into our hearts about what our next chapter is to look like.
We have the Tabor Ministries piece and the church staff piece to consider. It was becoming clear to us that there was going to be a change coming and we have just waited on the Lord to make that change clear to us. Back to traveling full-time? Keep the traveling piece where it is and go to a different church?
We have had a tremendous 3 years at First Naz. God has used these years to teach us & stretch us in many ways. We have developed lifelong friendships in this special place. He has also used this community to heal some places in us that needed to be healed. We are so grateful & humbled by the ways that He has been working in us. It has been an honor to work with our tremendous staff team and to see our choir & band growing in their desire to lead God’s people in life changing worship experiences.
As we were praying, the Lord dropped a crystal clear piece of direction right in our laps. After walking with the Lord for many years I know this isn’t the way it always happens, but that is what happened this time. Meeting after meeting and week after week He continued to confirm this new direction.
We are excited to begin this new chapter in our lives by joining the staff of Mt. Pleasant Christian Church in Greenwood, IN. I will serve this great church as Music & Worship Pastor. It is a dynamic church and we are excited to see how the Lord will use this new opportunity. MPCC is doing some incredible things to build The Kingdom both here and around the world. We look forward to seeing what the coming years will hold as we take this next step. They are very intentional and aggressive in their outreach strategies. In September, they opened a $7 million dollar Community Life Center. This 67,000 square foot facility is designed to provide an intentional place and designated space for people of all ages to grow spiritually and physically. It is a full-service fitness center designed to be a gathering place for the community. When I first saw this facility, I got really excited about a place that has literally put their money where their mouths are, in terms of outreach.
We will start at Mt. Pleasant the weekend of January 10-11, 2009. This first weekend I will not be leading worship, but just playing in the band and Kim and I will be introduced to the church. We hit the ground running the next week and will be leading a weekend retreat for the entire Worship Department January 23-25, 2009.
So, we find ourselves in a time of change…a time of transition. We have mixed emotions as we leave the place that has been our ministry home for the last 3 years. We also find ourselves excited and humbled as we look to this next chapter, wondering how God will work in and through us. We are certain that the only safe place to be is where HE wants us to be. Trusting that, we face these changes with excitement!

We had a great day on Sunday and are grateful for your prayers.
The morning concert was electric and you could really sense the presence of the Lord throughout the service. Harvestime is one of my favorite places to lead worship….the people come so hungry and ready to experience God. We actually had several people re-commit their lives to Christ in this service. We also had at least 1 person indicate that they prayed to receive Christ as their Savior for the very first time! We are so grateful for that!

Pastors Mark & Tonya Tabor
As I wrote on Saturday, my brother Mark and his wife Tonya are at the top of my list of hero’s in the faith. They have been a huge inspiration and encouragement to Kim and me. They are top-notch people and excellent pastors. They have both a heart for their people and for the lost. The Lord has used them to build a tremendous congregation in a smaller town and they are really making a difference in the community.
Kim and I have learned so much for Mark and Tonya over the years. Many things we have learned through conversations and times of prayer and spiritual renewal; but, others have been learned by simply watching them pursue the Lord with their whole hearts and lives. We love you guys and are so grateful for the investment that you have made in us! Thank you for the calls, emails, conversations and prayers that you have offered over the years. You guys rock!
We also had a great concert in the evening at Good Shepherd. I am so grateful for the way God is using our new devotional CD: “Finally Free: Stories of Hope & Inspiration.”
We used 2 of those stories yesterday: Sandra & Misty. Both of these stories moved people in such a tremendous way (as do all the ladies stories on the CD). We were able to hear so many people talk about how God used these powerful stories of healing and forgiveness to encourage them and remind them that God is truly in the details of our lives. I am so very thankful for that fact.
In all, it was a great weekend and we are grateful for the ways in which the Lord was at work. We are also grateful for your prayers! Thank you for that important support.
Now it’s time to go unpack and get some sleep so I can be ready for work tomorrow!

Hey Friends – we are down in area of my “genesis” (as Troy likes to put it) for 2 concerts (Tabor Ministries) tomorrow morning. There is just something special about coming home. My Mom & Dad are here and it just feels good to occasionally be under a roof where someone else is responsible, you know?
Tomorrow morning, we will be ministering in what has become my home church, Harvestime Temple in Mt. Vernon, IN. My older brother, Mark, is the Senior Pastor. It blows me away that my brother became their Senior Pastor in his twenties. That rocks my world….and he has been here for more than 25 years. He is a total stud and a real hero in the faith for me.
Tomorrow evening, we will be ministering at Good Shepherd Assembly of God in Evansville, IN.
There is a chance that some of my friends from high school will be at these concerts. I am excited to see them and also excited that we will have the opportunity to share The Gospel with them. I thank you for your prayers in that regard.
Time with family, great food & someone else being in charge. That is really nice!
I’ll keep you posted…..
